Again and again accidents occur with oleaginous or chemical substances. Often considerable contamination of the environment goes along with it. Human beings, animals and the environment are directly affected. The biggest effect shows in waters. It is very difficult to clean water and it results in high costs. Therefore, it is urgently necessary to reduce and remove the contamination with subsequent disposal as soon as possible.
RAWoffers intelligent products to solve incidents occurred as well as for the preventive use.RAW Oil Absorbent Booms consist of a textile fleece boom which is completely filled with actively absorbing, compacted polypropylene flakes and is therefore very form stable. The fleece boom forms the flakes very uniformly, even when fully saturated. The flakes provide a maximum contact surface to the spilled oil and they guarantee a high absorbing and binding capacity, without allowing the absorbed oil to escape again.
The Oil Absorbent Boom is surrounded by a tearproof nylon mesh skinwith an optimal mesh of approximately 6 mm which fixes the robust drag rope from end to end. The Oil Absorbent Booms are easy to handle through the big karabiners and rings on each end and they allow an optimal linking with correspondingly high safety overlapping. This guarantees the leak tightness of the boom.
The Oil Absorbent Boom is intended for the demanding continuous use and is able to float even when fully saturated. Through squeezing or wringing it is reusable to a limited extent - i.e. very economical.
