R.A.W® – strong for human and environment – an innovative company for occupational safety and environmental protection
R.A.W. Handel und Beratungs GmbH was founded in 1994 by the then sole proprietor and Executive Director Joachim Wittstock. The name R.A.W. refers to the English word “raw” and stood at the time of the foundation for “Trade with raw materials”. Due to the market requests RAW grew very quickly to a Europe-wide trade company for used paper. Since 2004 the name R.A.W.wastepaper has been standing for this still existing business area.
Environmental protection and occupational health and safety are further business segments of R.A.W. – the name R.A.W.absorb&clean stands for this field. R.A.W. established itself as a leading company in the market for environmental protection and workplace safety products throughout Europe within the past decade and is represented in Germany, Europe and Asia by authorised distribution partners today. The assortment includes products for preventing damage in areas where liquids are stored, transported or processed, for removing damage caused by leakages of any kind, for absorbing on paved and unpaved surfaces, for stopping spills on grounds and water surfaces, for a deep cleaning of a wide variety of contamination, etc. The fields of application and the effectiveness of the R.A.W. main products are TÜV and DEKRA tested and certified.
R.A.W. is a service-provider that offers extensive advice in the area of corporate environmental protection and health and safety at work. Particular mention must be made of the consultancy services it provides in connection with the REACh Regulation, e.g. in organising and structuring the requirements for downstream users, or in preparing, assessing and evaluating safety data sheets. The amount of work required in organisational terms merely to ensure the flow of information required under the REACh Regulation is considerable. In addition, R.A.W. supports companies in assessing their handling of hazardous materials within the scope of a basic check. Support is also available with inventory control and with the introduction of management systems in accordance with ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental protection) and BS OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety), i.e. R.A.W. offers full support in creating a "legally sound corporate organisation".
The name R.A.W. is now established as the umbrella brand for the two divisions: R.A.W.wastepaper and R.A.W.absorb&clean. In fact, the two areas of business are interlocking, rather than demarcated – and R.A.W.absorb&clean NatureLine absorbent fleece made from recycled cellulose naturally closes off the paper pulp cycle.
R.A.W. stands for innovative power and consistent customer orientation. Human health and safety at work as well as the protection of the environment determine the action of R.A.W. Expertise, communication skills, honesty, reliability, trust and responsibility are the main values of R.A.W. The sustainable safeguarding of the human working and living environment for the subsequent generations is for R.A.W. the most important task in our present days. The concern of R.A.W. is to promote a sustainable awareness of the environment in citizens and institutions and not to follow a current environmental trend.
The succession and appointment of the son Marco Wittstock as partner and Executive Director assures a good positioning in the market and safety in the long-term for R.A.W.
